About This Program

Transform from providing care to driving recovery. RNAs don't just maintain patients - they help them get better. It's more rewarding work with better pay.

As an RNA, you'll work closely with physical and occupational therapists to implement rehabilitation plans. You'll see measurable progress: patients going from bedbound to walking, from dependent to independent. That's deeply satisfying work.

Healthcare is shifting toward rehabilitation over maintenance, creating enormous demand for RNAs in skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers, and home health. This certification typically adds $3-6 more per hour over standard CNA positions.

Course Structure

This certification is delivered in two distinct parts. Both must be completed to earn your RNA certificate.

Part 1 Online Theory Course

8 Hours Minimum · Self-Paced

An online, self-paced theory course covering restorative nursing principles, range-of-motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, restorative dining, bladder & bowel programs, ADL restoration, documentation, and communication with the therapy team. Per California regulation, the course contains at least 8 hours of instructional content; because it is self-paced you may take as long as you need to complete it.

Part 2 In-Person Clinical Experience

8 Hours · On-Site

Hands-on practice working with residents in a skilled nursing facility under licensed supervision. You will apply restorative techniques learned in Part 1, practice transfers and ambulation with real residents, and document your work in the resident chart. Clinical day is scheduled with your instructor after Part 1 is complete.

Total minimum length: 16 hours (8 theory + 8 clinical). The online portion is self-paced — no maximum time limit.
