Position-Based Shift Eligibility

You can only work shifts that match your position and license type. This ensures proper staffing and legal compliance.

Position Hierarchy

Can pick up:

  • ✅ LVN shifts (RNs can cover LVN work)

Cannot pick up:

  • ❌ CNA, RNA, or Caregiver shifts

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Can pick up:

  • ✅ LVN shifts only

Cannot pick up:

  • ❌ RN shifts (under-qualified)
  • ❌ CNA, RNA, or Caregiver shifts (different scope)

Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA)

Can pick up:

  • ✅ RNA shifts
  • ✅ CNA shifts (RNA certification includes CNA skills)

Cannot pick up:

  • ❌ RN or LVN shifts
  • ❌ Caregiver shifts

Cannot pick up:

  • ❌ All other shift types

Caregiver

Why These Rules Matter

  • Legal Compliance: You must work within your license scope
  • Patient Safety: Ensures qualified staff for each shift
  • Cost Management: Prevents over-qualified staff on basic shifts
  • Quality Care: Right person for the right job

Updating Your Position

If you've obtained a new license or certification:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Update your Position/License Type
  3. Save changes
  4. Contact your supervisor to verify the change
⚠️ Important: Always ensure your position in the system matches your current license and qualifications.
